Lou Ella Rose is a multidisciplinary immigrant artist. She is the lead musinger and Artistic Director of SamaSama Project, a Chicago-based Filipino Folk Fusion band. In 2022, Lou Ella Rose was hailed as one of Chicago Cabaret’s Emerging Artists, paying homage to her musical theater roots in Manila and her cultural heritage in every cabaret performance.

A musical theater actor for Repertory Philippines and Tanghalang Pilipino in Manila and Theaterworks in Singapore, she appeared on Philippine Television in soap operas and TV shows including the Knowledge Channel’s Karen’s World, and ABS-CBN’s Star Studio Presents. If you lived in Manila in the early 2000s, you might recognize her in the widely popular Selecta Sundae “Jolex” and Lucky Me Spicy Hot Mami TV commercials.  Lou Ella Rose has performed in concerts, festivals, and stages all over the Midwest, Singapore, and in Madrid, Spain in front of an audience of 14,000. She starred in primetime TV shows (Star Studio Presents, Hanggang Kailan) and viral TV commercials (Selecta, Lucky Me, Strepcof).

She was selected by the Philippine Embassy in the USA as one of only 10 inaugural delegates of the Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO) nationwide. Off stage, she nerds out on AI, SQL and Data Mining/Analysis and is passionate about supporting non-profit organizations dear to her heart: FYLPRO, Asian Pop-up Cinema, League of Volunteers for relief Expeditions (L.O.V.E.), and PACCGC (Fil Am Chamber of Commerce)

Lou Ella Rose is passionate about sharing Filipino culture in the modern world through her art and is proud to be working on her latest passion project “The Great Filipino Songbook” with SamaSama Project.

Of all the hats she wears, Lou Ella Rose finds being mama to Reign and life-long partner to Baron most rewarding.
